Birds on a Special Sunday

Very bright and cold here in Pennsylvania but I still ventured out in the 21F (-6.1C) temperatures to ensure my birds were well fed. Here's just a few from this morning.

Trip to Florida

I had a week in Florida, the weather was extremely nice as you would expect and I had a great time with lots of nice photogenic birds.

These photo's are years old BTW, I never said I went to Florida this year did I? The weather was nasty and I was bored so I was playing with these ancient pictures for amusement.

Tuesday Birds

Tuesday started off very quietly probably due to hulking great Bald Eagle perched down the bottom of the yard. I never noticed it until it flew off. While I can't see a Sparrow or a Junco having much to be afraid of, when it left the birds did start to show up. It started off being quite murky so I was using flash for a good part of the session then brought it in as the sun broke through the clouds. Not a classic morning but it kept me occupied. I'd better get into House Elf mode and do something around the place.

Saturday Birds

With a chilly wind blowing through the window and Badger complaining he was cold I didn't take many pictures this morning.

Coming in for a landing.

While waiting for it to warm up a bit before going out to bring more wood up to house I added this one from Monday afternoon.

This is not the Owl I was looking for

I went out late afternoon hoping to find a Short-eared Owl at Middle Creek. I got distracted by this little Eastern Screech Owl instead.

Visitors

This morning I was thinking to myself where should I go in my time off from my House Elf duties. Middle Creek to visit the Snow Geese was going to be the destination. This afternoon I looked out the front window and found they'd decided to visit me instead, all 10,000 of them at least.

Valentines Day Birds

It's a bit chilly outside when I went out to fill up the feeders. It's only 21F at 10:15 even though it's bright sunshine. Yesterdays snow has mostly gone so I don't need to get the snow blower out. The Snow Geese numbers are way up at Middle Creek and they've been flying over all morning. I'm waiting for them to land and feed at the top of the yard one late afternoon so I get the best light. Here's a few from this morning.
