Blue Jay

Sorting out my files from 2016 and I came across these ones of a Blue Jay which are pretty damn sharp. Not bad considering it was with a manual focus lens.

Wascally Wascal

I felt like taking a few kitty pictures and little golden eyed Rascal was a willing subject. Very shallow DOF at f/1.8.

Late Winter, Early Spring (When Everybody Goes to Mexico)

An early John Denver track which is still a favorite of mine. Late Winter, Early Spring. John Denver I'm not going to Mexico but Jim is down there this week so he went. It's that time of year, looks like the Snow Geese have gone, they're not in the fields around home. I saw a load flying high heading North on Tuesday Evening. The Robins and Grackles are back in the yard and the White-throated Sparrows are singing. Me, I went up the Amazon this morning down in Hershey at the Butterfly Atrium. It was in the mid 80's and really humid and steamy.

Snow Geese Season

As is usual for late February early March the fields around home are full of the sights and sounds of Snow Geese. Yesterday they were in the field just down the lane.

Carolina Wren

The first bird I heard this morning was a Carolina Wren. Between doing a bit of this and that I fed the birds and set up my camera on the feeder outside. Before too long the Carolina Wren showed up and did a bit of filling up on mealworms.

Middle Creek

Tuesday was a glorious sunny day with temps in the mid 50's so ideal for a trip over to Middle Creek to see the Swans and Geese before they depart for more Northerly latitudes.

Coopers Hawk

Sunday afternoon was very wet and miserable. This Coopers Hawk sat on top of one of the nest boxes looking for a meal.
