I don't think we could have picked a better day to visit Ricketts Glen. Bit of overcast, bit of blue skies, fall colors. Nice day out, tiring but nice.

Home again

Back home again to a 100 ft hickory tree on the garage but thats another story. Instead heres a couple of Monarchs and a picture of Memorial Lake. I have loads more of Maine that I'll slot in from time to time I suppose.

Day 9 Last trip around Acadia

The forecast (not that I normally believe anything the weather forecasts tell me) was accurate for once, it said rain at 11 and sure enough it started raining at 11. Still, made for different photographic opportunities.

Day 8 Maine, Bass Harbor at Dawn, Boat trip from Northwest Harbor

Day 8 started early when I dragged Lynn and Dave out of bed an hour or so before dawn to clamber over rocks at the waters edge in the pre dawn darkness to photograph the Lighthouse with the sun coming up. One hardy photographer was there before us, standing in bare feet with the incoming tide lapping around his feet to get a better angle. Damn it was chilly!

Day 7 started bright and sunny with a few scattered clouds later in the day.

Day 6 Maine, Schoodic Peninsula

A day spent on Schoodic is always worthwhile. It coincided with a high surf advisory; consequently I took a lot of crashing wave pictures!

Day 5 Maine, Visitor Center, Cadillac Mtn, Loop Road, Sandbeach and Sieur de Monts.

Day 5  (Monday) was here, there and everywhere. Started off at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center then around the Loop Road stopping off at various places along the way.
