No Bluebirds Today

Not as warm as yesterday and now its raining again. If it dried out more I could get outside and work on the yard. Still it was dry this morning so I took some more bird pictures. I might even have to harass the cat's soon for pictures until the warblers start to show up in the yard.

Bluebirds

This Social Distancing is giving me time to take more pictures. While I would love to be out somewhere exotic like Memorial Lake or Nova Scotia I'm not, so I'm taking photos of Bluebirds in the backyard. Here's a few from this afternoon.

American Robin

Practicing Social Distancing or what ever you want to call staying the F??? away from everybody. So providing it's a reasonably nice morning I've been photographing the birds in the back yard. Here's a photogenic American Robin.

Northern Cardinal and more

It was cold and overcast yesterday and I didn't fancy going outside but I did several times to feed the birds. I then got set up inside with a nice cup of English Breakfast and took a few photos of the customers at my bird feeder.

A lot of people call this a "Blackbird". Are they nuts?

Sunday Birds

Very cold last night, hopefully that's the last frost of the season. There's snow forecast for overnight and tomorrow. I'll believe that when I see it. In the meantime here's some photos from this morning.

It's officially Springtime...but chilly.

Last night the temperatures were in the low 60's. Tonight it's going to get down to 26f. Right now it's sunny but very chilly outside. I've been outside to feed the birds a couple of times and the wind is biting. A couple of days ago I took myself off for a walk around the fields and came across this lovely little blue flower which I think is Speedwell.

Saturdays Feeder Birds

Overnight winds blew my feeder down so I had to go out and get that straightened up. I took the opportunity to switch one of the perches which didn't attract anyone, pity as it was a nice Pussy Willow. I think it was too floppy for them. I'll try something more rigid when I have a walk around the yard. I need to check on my Bloodroots so maybe I'll find something suitable round the back.

Birdies du jour

A hour this morning produced a fair bit of activity at the feeder. I missed the Blue Jay and the Brown Cowbird damnit but I took a lot of images and here's a few of them.

Even more birds.

Nice spring day, it's going to get up to 68f today even though it was below freezing last night. I'll have to check on my Bloodroots later, to see if they're flowering yet. In the meantime here's a few more birds.

If you feed them, they will come.

More birds. Yesterdays winds have died down so I took a few photos this morning.

More Birds

I was wrong yesterday; there isn't just one pair of Bluebirds, there's at least 2 pairs. I had 3 bluebird nest boxes ready to set up so that was one of my tasks for today. I think there's about 8 bluebird boxes 2 roosting boxes and 2 owl boxes out there now. I also have a new bat box ready to put up when I get the ladder out. In the mean time here's a few more photos from today.
