Bombay Hook and the Man Eating Flies

Tuesday we took a 2 and a bit hour drive down to Delaware to visit Bombay Hook on the Delaware Bay. I had read that mosquito's were a problem and that long sleeves were advisable. I wasn't expecting the man eating flies that we encountered on the wooded trails. After the first couple of trails we didn't do anymore and stuck to the  raised gravel roads around the pools. In all we saw 75 species, lots of Avocets and several Black-necked Stilts. The huge number of waders had left so next year we'll go a month earlier. The Marsh Wrens didn't want to pose for me and were playing hard to get. The Stilts and Avocets were too far away for my 500mm to get decent shots. I did get a new bird on the trip, a Seaside Sparrow but didn't get a decent picture of one.
