Yellow Sunday

A nice morning out in Lancaster County yesterday. We walked up and down the valley along Pumping Station Road (dirt track, it is Lancaster County after all). A fair few migrants were in including Blue-Winged Warbler, Myrtle Warbler, lots of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo, Ovenbird, Worm-eating Warbler, American Redstart, Black- Throated Blue Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush and Common Yellowthroat along with a whole host of resident species. I did manage a shot of a Common Yellowthroat which was the first of the days 'yellows'. After leaving we stopped at another yellow reference. Yellow Lady's Slipper Orchids.
Then it was home for lunch and after pulling a few weeds I got set up in the sauna blind to see what was coming to the waterfall. A few more 'yellows'.

Who's making that silly pishing noise?

I'll sing at them and maybe they'll go away.

The official name for the Myrtle Warbler is Yellow-rumped Warbler, the 'Myrtle' is the Eastern form with a white throat whereas the Western or 'Audabons" has a yellow throat.

Not sure if this is a female or last years male that hasn’t  got it it full plumage yet.
