Zion National Park

It was Monday therefore it's Zion NP Day. Not the Weekend so shouldn't be too many people should there? Wrong! It was a veritable Zoo. We arrived earlyish, (8am) to find the parking lot full. We managed to park nearby along the road and walked back to the Shuttle buses which were very efficient in transporting the hordes up Zion Canyon. We went right to the furthest shuttle stop at the Temple of Sinawava. The entrance to the Virgin River Narrows is at the end of a 1 mile long paved path.

After stopping many times we reached the end of the paved pathway and headed back to the shuttle bus stop. Our next aim was to reach the Emerald Pools. Rather than start at the bottom and work our way uphill we got off the higher elevation shuttle bus stop at a path to the Upper Pool thinking it would be downhill all the way. Yeah, right. Wrong again. It seemed mostly uphill. I told everybody that next time I come up with a bright idea to just kick me in the nuts to save myself a lot of pain.
