Three Pair

Nope. I'm not playing cards. It was raining pretty hard this morning but brightened up a bit so I took a few shots and although there was a reasonable selection of birds visiting these are the 3 that I selected, 2 of each hence the title.

An Autumnal Feel to the Background

The Spice Bushes that make up a large chunk of the background to a lot of my pictures are turning a nice golden yellow color right now. I hope to get more shots before they drop the leaves altogether. Heres one of this year crop of Blue Jay's.

High ISO

Apologies for this entry being a bit on the camera techy side. It's early morning and we've been getting up at 2AM all week and progressively earlier the week before. Kelly has been taking a course on UK time which is 5 hours ahead of us so up at 2AM for her course starting at 8AM UK time (3AM EST).As it's totally dark for half my day I've not been doing much in the way of picture taking. The main bulk of migration is over and there so much natural food about there's not that much activity in the yard.  Heres a White-breasted Nuthatch taken at ISO 6400, f/7.1 and 1/1000s on my Nikon Z7ii and Nikon 500mm PF.

Busy Doing Nothing

Not been taking many photos this week, a couple of sessions up at the Hawkwatch were unproductive as the birds were way too high. There's been hordes of Warblers through the yard this week, all sorts. The Spicebushes at the back of my butterfly garden were very popular with the Robins and Catbirds while the Warblers took the opportunity to bathe in the birdbath on an old Walnut stump. Here's a few birds from this morning.
