Clotted Cream and Scones.

I admit I have a fondness for tea, scones, jam and clotted cream. I am partaking in just a few while I’m here.

Give up on what day this was.

As the internet signal bandwidth was severely limited when we were in Scotland I never posted anything on a daily basis so that fell by the proverbial wayside. Now that I have a reasonable speed I have a shed load of photo's to go through and places to go people to see so I’m too busy.

UK2019-Day 4

Day 4 we drove into downtown Leicester to the oldest part of the city. Nearby is the Roman ruins called the Jewry Wall and is near to
where they found the remains of King Richard III underneath a car park. Long story but a fascinating one. There was a fantastic TV program "The King in the Car Park" about the whole detective story in tracking down the last English King to die in battle leading his army at Bosworth in 1485.

So I wanted to visit the new Richard III museum and see his tomb inside Leicester Cathedral. Adjacent to the Cathedral is the old medieval Guildhall which we visited also.

UK2019-Day 2

Day 1 was spent traveling up from London and after a sleepless night on the 747 I wasn't taking too many photographs. I did see several Red Kites on the way up the M1 motorway which was nice. A very different mix of garden birds from what I was used to 20 years ago. I haven't seen a Blue Tit or a Great Tit yet and only 1 Blackbird. There's lots of Wood Pigeons, Magpies, Crows, Stock Doves and Goldfinches, oh and a solitary Greenfinch. No Starlings or House Sparrow.

Yellow Lady's Slipper Orchid

It's probably a bit early for these so here's one from last year.
