Big Sky

I went out for a little walk the other evening. There have been plenty of storm warnings but the storms all seem to be passing along the Appalachians a few miles to north of us.

Pesky Varmint/Critter/Cute Beastie

While on the current trend of seed thieves heres another culprit. I don't know how many chipmunks there are in the yard but when theres a predator about the incessant loud 'chip', 'chip', 'chip', 'chip', 'chip' is really annoying. It's usually a Red-tailed Hawk or Coopers Hawk and they certainly pass the word along to their fellow Chipmunks.

I'm sure I put seed out for the birds this morning.

I'm really, really sure I did.

Wonders will never cease .....

yes, more butterflies. This time more exotic butterflies from the new Hershey Gardens Butterfly Atrium. I don't know the species of most of them but I'll do a bit of looking on the net.

More than just butterflies

Yesterday up at Ft Indiantown Gap, it was in the mid 90's for the 3rd of the Butterfly Walks of 2016. High temperatures might be good for butterflies but not for humans. I had a nice wander round looking at more than just butterflies. Heres a few of the images.

Deptford Pink

Goldenrod sp

Blueberries
One of the many snippets of information passed on by the biologists was that apparently the Rattlesnakes like to hang out in the Blueberry patches. I looked but no luck.

Turkey Vulture
This Turkey Vulture was looking to pick off any stragglers.

Butterflies at Ft Indiantown Gap

Another great couple of days up the Gap looking at butterflies and anything else that moves. As always I came away loaded with information from the Wildlife Biologists. Thanks good people.
