The Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds say's that you should put the horizon 1/3rd  down from the top or 1/3rd up from the bottom. Yeah well I like this horizon in the middle because I've got a nice sky and a nice wave.

More snow yesterday

Another 5 or more inches last night to add the accumulation that seems to have been  with us for weeks and weeks and weeks and them some.

Anyway. Heres a Bluebird because I can.

More snow last night, not much, about an inch and a bit I would guess. Then the wind got up, the temperatures dropped to 0f (call it -18c) that combined with the 20-30 mph westerly wind the temperature felt like -24f (-31c). Damn it was cold. I had to go outside this morning to feed the birds and to snow blow the driveway this afternoon. The bottom of the drive had an 18inch drift so it was good that I did venture out to clear it. When the wind hit my cheeks it was painful. Heres a shot from this morning with the iPhone.

A little more snow again today, not much but more on the way for the weekend apparently. It's quite bright out there in the early afternoon but this morning was downright murky. Heres a few pictures from this morning.

Punxsutawney Phil must be wrong

So last Monday was Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil saw his own shadow and proclaimed that we had six more weeks of winter to come. Yeah right. I want warblers, I want warblers now. I've had enough of this winter shit. Roll on Spring.

Beavers and Winter Greenery

Not far away is a beaver lodge  and a short walk in the snow seemed a good idea. Not a long walk because the snow had a frozen crust that gave way every step. Mr and Mr's Beaver were no doubt tucked away in their lodge due to the 20f temperatures. We did find a bit of greenery along the way.
